Walkers has significant experience of Coronavirus Decontamination Cleaning Service supporting NHS Hospitals and NHS Ambulances. Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis we have been supporting the NHS and commercial clients, working in a range of environments. We have cleaned more than 4000 ambulances, NHS hospitals, GP’s Surgeries, factories, commercial offices and logistics centres.
The Walkers COVID-19 Cleaning approach has a number of aspects, detailed below.
Prevention – Regular High Touch Point Cleaning
Regular high touch point cleaning is a vital service to ensure Coronavirus decontamination. We provide additional support to your existing cleaning team, focusing on sanitising high touch points, such as doors, vending machines, reception areas, rest areas, hot desks and shared kitchen and IT facilities.
Prevention – Planned Touch Point Cleaning and ULV Disinfection
Regular high touch point cleaning combined with decontamination using our ULV (Ultra Low Volume) Disinfection and Fogging system, addresses contamination before a confirmed case of COVID-19 is present. This thorough approach mitigates the risk that a non-symptomatic individual has contaminated the working environment.
COVID-19 Decontamination
A full decontamination deep clean is carried out in accordance with the COVID-19 Infection, Prevention and Control Guidance issued by
Public Health England.
The service includes:
ULV Disinfection and Fogging.
Chlorine based disinfectant clean to all hard surfaces (ceiling to floor, including fixtures and fittings).
Cleaning of all screens, computers and keyboards, together with a steam clean of soft furnishings.
Extraction cleaning of carpeted areas where appropriate.
Cleaning of all high level signage and the external surfaces of light fittings.
ULV Disinfection and Fogging.
Chlorine based disinfectant clean to all hard surfaces (ceiling to floor, including fixtures and fittings).
Cleaning of all screens, computers and keyboards, together with a steam clean of soft furnishings.
Extraction cleaning of carpeted areas where appropriate.

The ULV Disinfection and Fogging is used to distribute airborne sanitiser into the environment, providing good coverage of disinfectant not only on visual surfaces, but also into cracks, crevices and other difficult to reach areas. The tiny droplets are carried on air currents, and settle on surfaces where the disinfectant kills bacteria and viruses. The technique leaves no visible deposit and will not stain, so can be used where other cleaning application methods are not suitable.
We usually operate a 24 hour response time, but will endeavour to start work quicker than this.
Electrostatic Spray Disinfection
Throughout the Covid-19 crisis Walkers has been electrostatic spraying disinfectant to protect a range of environments including offices, retail and public transport. Electrostatic spraying produces charged disinfectant droplets which are attracted to surfaces, where they coalesece to form a continuous film, ensuring that even difficult to reach areas are treated. This is a safe, time efficient and cost effective method of protecting against Covid-19.
