Our people and the communities we serve are crucial to our success, and we are dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and safe work environment. Upholding human rights, treating our employees with fairness, respect, and dignity, and supporting their well-being and professional growth are integral to our social impact initiatives. Our workforce development programs prioritise employee well-being and skill enhancement, empowering them to become agents of positive change. Additionally, we actively engage with local communities through partnerships with charitable organisations, exemplifying our commitment to creating a positive social impact.

Our commitment

Our vision for the future revolves around being at the forefront of sustainability and corporate responsibility within the cleaning industry. By integrating ESG principles into our core operations and long-term plans, Walkers aims to set new industry benchmarks and pave the way for a sustainable and thriving future for our clients, employees, communities, and the environment. Sustainability is not just a goal for us; it’s our unwavering commitment to building a better world for generations to come.

Ethical Employment Practices

Our dedication to sustainability extends to our ethical employment practices. We uphold the highest ethical standards in all aspects of employment, ensuring a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and exploitation. Our stringent adherence to labour laws and regulations ensures that all employees receive fair wages, work in safe conditions, and have equal opportunities. We also extend these ethical principles to our suppliers and partners, promoting transparency and ethical conduct throughout our value chain. As proud members of the Living Wage Foundation, we are committed to providing fair compensation to our employees.

Reward and Recognition is a key element of our company goals and values.  We recognise how valuable and important our employees are and feel hard work should not go unnoticed.  Walkers operate a scheme which rewards employees with points that give staff the flexibility to choose the reward they want when they want.  It includes everything from cinema tickets to vouchers to gift cards for global brands and is sent along with a personal message.

The rewards scheme has been a huge success and is a driving force in increasing productivity, employee happiness and loyalty.

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Walkers do. We are deeply committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, striving to lead by example as a premier cleaning company in the industry. Our sustainability policy reflects our unwavering dedication to sustainable cleaning practices, eco-friendly solutions, and responsible business conduct, all of which drive a positive impact on the environment, society, and our stakeholders.

Environmental Responsibility

Sustainability is at the core of our environmental responsibility. We acknowledge the urgent need to address climate change and take proactive measures to minimise our environmental footprint. Through responsible resource management, implementation of energy-efficient technologies, and waste reduction strategies, we actively work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable operations. Our investments in renewable energy sources and eco-friendly technologies, including our transition towards Electric Vehicles (EVs) for a cleaner transportation fleet, further demonstrate our unwavering commitment to sustainability. Walkers are committed delivering Net Zero by 2027 and assisting our clients to achieve their own emissions targets. From 2023 we will publish our Carbon Emissions via our ESG Report on the company website.

Walkers takes its commitment to the environment extremely seriously and is extremely proud to hold ISO14001 certification and maintain and deliver all services to this standard.

We understand implicitly that the worlds natural resources are limited and cannot be replenished in line with the current level of consumption and unless action is taken to address the gap, competition for remaining resource will have a negative effect on all aspects of society.
